Do These Pants Make My Butt Look FAST-The Sequel

Today Tracey and I decided to go for a walk. It was SUPPOSED to be a beautiful day here in Pensacola, but in Pensacola fashion...the sun was on vacation. I digress. So I decided we should walk over the bridge that leads to Pensacola Beach. I wanted to see if I could do it. This bridge is part of a race coming up in Pensacola in a couple of weeks, called The Double Bridge Run. It is a big deal and professionals for all over the world come here every year to compete. There is a 15k that spans both bridges, or just a 5k that includes the bridge we walked today. The bridge is pretty steep, and I usually walk on relatively flat terrain. I made it. Round trip, we walked 1.7 miles in 27 minutes. We even jogged some (going DOWN the bridge). Here is me at the end with the bridge behind me. Gen should recognize the wonderful pants I am wearing...THANK YOU AGAIN GEN!
Next is a picture of my new water bottle. I bought it at Target last night because I needed something cute and sassy to go with my new Brita water filter. And do you know what if fabulous about this? I am not sure you can see it, but there is a little water bottle counter on the black part. You move it to keep track of how many bottles you have drank (drunk? ). It's like my ghetto walmart water bottle and sharpie game...but just the next level!

Next up on Amy's Show 'n' Tell...I am wearing some pajama pants tonight that Tracey bought for me from Old Navy back in December. And do you know what size they are? Do you? Not XXL. Not XL. No ma'am and no sir! They are straight up large! There is no X involved!

And just in case you were going to ask, Washburn is the name of my college in Kansas!

Finally, thank you for the comments on the old belly shots. I am not worried to much...I just wanted to share with my gang. And since Tracey and I will not be having kids (well, unless that miracle happens I talked about a few posts back), a tummy tuck would definitely be do-able. Along with a boobie job...all in due time!

  3. I must try and find a water bottle like that - AND it's in purple.. my fave colour. I'm using a 1.25 litre pump bottled water that I just keep refilling - and though I just got a new bottle and it sucks!! (keeps drawing in more air than water when you drink..) back to the drawing board.
Love the pics, Amy. You look sassy!!

  11. I have that exact same water bottle and I LOVE it.
However, make sure you don't lose the little silicone piece because it is useless without it.
My fiance may or may not taken one off of a new bottle for me when mine went missing....

  17. I just caught the Old Navy 50% off their clearance racks and scored fuzzy jammie pants for Liv and myself for about $2.50 a pair. The kid, she lives for fuzzy stuff. She's got a bunch of pairs, from rainbows to skulls to the multicolored penguins ones I got on Friday. Then she pairs them with a tank top because she's a freak of human heat confliction. Loves fuzzy warm stuff, but must have breathable on her.

Also getting ahead of myself for the time being (since dammit, a good sale is a good sale) and bought two pairs of jeans in smaller sizes. I'm loose in 20s (Target Brand) for the time being but I scored a "boyfriend" cut of the Old Navy ones for 10 smackers and a Diva cut pair of 16s which were the cutest black with their little bedazzled butt pockets (also 10 smackers). A few more pounds and I'll be back into a couple pairs of 18s I have held onto.

Sadly, I needed to cut a couple of people who had been my close friends online for almost 4 years (and one I've met and vacationed with a couple of times at her home in NorCal) out of my life because they tore into me about asking that the first rule of WLS etiquette should be to not start conversations with Bandsters as "So, how much weight have you lost?" I explained why (this is in a Facebook note) and got tore into that I supposedly wrote it as an "eff off" to people (it was long-winded, as everything I write is, but it had a point about tact, sensitivity and decency, especially when both of these women have weight struggles and know how bad people's comments can make them feel).

See, it all still hinges on me winning the surgery through a radio contest. I was told that I "owed" them to post constantly about what I was going through. I asked for the courtesy of a modicum of privacy and to still be treated as a person & friend first, their "investment" last. (Come on, I rallied asking them to vote for me, but they weren't the only two people getting votes in, I did most of the work myself.)

I was wondering (although I doubt this has happened to you since you strike me as so loveable that I can't imagine anyone NOT liking you) if you've had friends (close or casual) change their opinion of you once you got the surgery and started losing weight? I know you focus on positivity, but a lot of people follow you and I'm really interested to hear if anyone else has had bad outcomes with friendships after being banded or losing the weight. Just a hopeful request. *bats eyes*

We shall lounge in our PJs tomorrow and veg on some DVDs and think of you while I decide on which new delicious mushy to try next.

Craig makes a killer mashed brocoflower that he melts cheese into. (If you need more veggies, that's an awesome one. Either cauliflower or brocoflower boiled until really soft and then he mashes in with one of those hand sticks and they're just like mashed potatoes but yummier.

  19. Cute, cute, cute, Amy! Love the workout pants and sounds like you enjoyed the whole excursion.

Ohhhh, love the water bottle too. Will have to check out at Target the next time I'm in a city that has one. It is my fave store, and the closest one is an hour away. . Whereabouts in the store did you find it? Kitchen or sporting goods?

  20. Just an update ladies on the water bottle (I think it is hilarious that several of you have it). I got it at Target for $10...in the sporting good section. It is made by thermos and holds 20 ounces of water! Which is great for me bc it makes doing math easier!

  22. Ms. Amy, on the 5K bit, you should check out the Couch to 5K program. I am going to start it tomorrow, it makes a lot of sense. I am going to try my luck at a 5K this summer or fall. Check out c25k.com or coolrunning.com. As always, congrats on all your progress.
