An internal peace.

Sometimes when big things happen I am so excited that I don't really act excited at all. This happened once in high school when I won Winter Royalty Queen. They called my name and inside I was so happy, but on the outside I looked pretty calm and collected. I knew that I had made my parents proud and I was just so happy, relieved, and peaceful.

So, when I look at the picture below...I just can't believe that I am here. At this place. And it's a good place. For those of you who have read my introduction, you may remember that in 7th grade, my first year in junior, I made the dance team and I had to have my skirt made for me. They didn't make a skirt in a size 14, so we had to buy 2 and have them sewn together. I will never forget how that felt.

Well. I still have that skirt and top. My mom actually gave me the skirt this weekend. I held it up and said "That is so tiny".

And then I put it on.

And I am so happy. This is the smallest, and oldest, piece of clothing history I have. It is 17 years old. And what is even MORE amazing...I will soon be smaller than I was at 13.

That makes my heart and soul feel...peaceful.

No matter what the scale said today :)

  7. LOL...When I saw the little pic in the reader box my first thought was "Aww, look at our Amy the cheerleader back in junior/HS...she had the same exact pose of today" Than, I opened up your post to read and saw it was our Amy, today! wearing her cheerleader skirt from back than! How cool is that? What a great feeling that must have been.

  12. This past weekend I put on my homecoming dress from my freshman year of high school... it was a size 16 that we searched all over to find... It was too big... I have never been so happy

It's an awesome feeling to realize that you're smaller than you were as a chunky child/teenager
