The best.thing.ever happened to me yesterday!
I grew up in the water, on the water, around the water. The random question that blogger assigns when you are making your account asked me:
When you open your eyes underwater, are you ever afraid you will drown?
My answer: No, I always pretend that I am a mermaid. But it's not really pretending...because I am.
You see, my favorite part of being in the water usually is being UNDER water. I love it. All my life though, if I was going to stay underwater for any length of time, I would need to hold onto something or be weighted down. For example, when I was getting certified for scuba diving, you have to wear a weight belt if you are extra floaty. I had to use lots of weights.
Well yesterday I was playing in my sisters pool and found something out that was so startling, I had to have Tracey video it. I went underwater...and stayed underwater. I did not float up. I did not bob to the surface like a plump apple.
Never in my life has this happened. Never did I think that I would have enough muscle and not enough fat to keep my floating.
It was possibly my best NSV to date.
Now to the ass part. In all my Zumbaing, in all my weight lifting...never have I been as sore as I am today....from walking. Well...okay...speed walking as fast as my stubs could move...but still! My butt is sore. My hammies are sore. My shin muscles are SORE! I just think that is amazing. All from walking!
Wanted to show you my little Roxy hat that I got off clearance last fall. Stylish yes?
Also, I went and got my finger sized. Last month it was a size 8. This month...a size 7! WHAAAA? Presurgery my ring size was a 10.5!Here is a little outfit our friend Mary gave me. It was from Target, and still had the tags on it. It was actually a little too big and I probably wont be able to wear it again but it was pretty cute! And that's it for now. Thank you guys for all the love and comments you left for me regarding the 5k. I know it sounds cliche to say, but if I can do it...hell...anyone can do it.
Love yous!
Congrats on not floating right back to the surface and on everything hurting! It is weird that that pain is so welcome and make us feel even better! What a fabulous dress, if you ever decide to donate to the sisterhood - please keep me in mind - it is too cute! <3
ReplyDeleteYou are so adorable! I love the enthusiasm you have for even the smallest things and that you share it with all of us :) Have a fabulous day!
ReplyDeleteI love that dress. It's too bad you can't wear it again. I want to be in your sister's pool right now! Wwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look too cute!! That dress looks so good! I can't wait till I look like you!!;)
ReplyDeleteWe're seriously SO skinny.
Way to not float Amy :) I am so happy for you. I love the hat, you can totally pull it off!!! I also like the outfit, too bad you will not get to wear it long. Congrats on the 5K, too. Sorry I'm a bit late with that, I just caught up on blogs today. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYou had me at "ass".
ReplyDeleteUm - what were you getting your ring finger sized for? Huh? Huh?
ReplyDeleteYAY on not floating - pretty damn cool!
Love the NSV! And you are too cute in that dress!!
ReplyDeleteAND you look like a movie stah in that hat and bikini top....
When I got certified for SCUBA, there were lots of skinny girls in the class, so I loaded up my weight belt ahead of time so as not to embarrass myself by asking for more. I was like a brick, I couldn't maintain bouyancy, so my instructor pulled me aside later and said "you know, if you want to drown, don't wear a respirator."
ReplyDeleteAwesome NSV, you look so cute.
and Gilly = LOL!
You win the prize for oddest NSV of the week.
ReplyDeleteGawww dammit, you are so adorable! I love that dress that Mary gave you!
ReplyDeleteI miss having a pool! I too love the water and grew up with a pool in our backyard and spent every waking moment in it in the summer. Now that I live on the west side of Washington State where the weather isn't as favorable, no pool for me which also turns into no tan for me :(
Blah. You are too cute.
Lovin you in that adorable dress!
ReplyDeleteDid you ever think that SINKING might be your biggest NSV ever? A strange journey, indeed. But congrats!
ReplyDeleteYou look so freak'n skinny!! Congrats on sinking too!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so TAN!! I am jealous!!
ReplyDeleteYou Sink!! WOO WOOO!!! Congrats on sinking!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great feeling that must have been! Gotta love the NSVs and embrace them.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute in that dress!
Awesome NSV!! I hadn't thought about the diving thing but then again I haven't been diving since I got fat. You look so cute in your little hat, I am going hat shopping this weekend for some cute ones for the summer. Oh and that is awesome about your fingers. I got mine sized and have went from a 6.5 to a 5.5, I immediately emailed the BF in the event he went ring shopping before I made it back to the house!!
ReplyDeleteI love your blogs. You make me happy even when I've had a crappy day. You are so upbeat and fun!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you on sinking! May you always sit on the bottom of the pool whenever you want!
Adorable....just adorable!
ReplyDeleteawesome not being "floaty" anymore! great on the ring size and you look super skinny in that dress!
ReplyDeleteI'm late but just wanted to say AWESOME JOB on the 5k and you look fabulous! And YAY for sinking! Although just know that if your cruise ship sinks, you'll have to work harder to survive...just an FYI.
ReplyDeleteI just noticed your new, super skinny profile pic!! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being able to watch the waves from the bottom up without any assistance!
ReplyDeleteFirst, congrats on not floating. LOL. That sounds funny to say. I'm going to have to test this out at the pool this summer. I'm pretty sure that I am still about 95% fat though. :-)
ReplyDeleteAlso, super awesome on the ring size! That really is a wonderful NSV! I have large fingers and that is one thing that I am hoping to see go down in size for sure.
Finally, that dress looks so lovely on you! What a great color.
Looking good. :-)
The dress is so cute! You are such a skinny minny!!
ReplyDeleteIt really is the little things sometimes :)
ReplyDeleteI heart that cute little hat your rocking. You have such sass
*sigh* Even when I was thin, I would float. I never mastered the underwater swimming.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, you know you look hot, Ariel. ;)
I love that grey dress - it looks so good!!
ReplyDeleteYou look like a doll in that dress! Congratulations on that AWESOME NSV. That has been one I am definitely looking forward to. I too love to be underwater. I'll let you know when I don't float anymore!

ReplyDeleteWhenever those quizzes ask you what power or ability you'd love to have...I always answer, to be amphibious!
ReplyDeleteTo be able to swim underwater without scuba gear or anything would be fabulous!
