  2. I so understand where yr coming from... blogging was such a huge part of my life a few years ago, and yet all of my girls were so far away and were always catching up with each other, and I just couldn't get there...

There'll be other meetings (if you can't make this one) and I know from this vlog that you know what a wonder this blogging thing is for the love and support that we can all get from right in our own homes.

    xx

  7. You are so awesome. I want to be like you when I grow up. But seriously it is awesome to know that you have people on your side that give a darn what is going on and how you feel.

I have to say that I have only been reading your blog for a few months. I have mentioned to hubby a few times, that I so want to go to Pensacola to meet you. You are such an inspiration.

  8. You had me crying and laughing all in one two minutes. "Rambo stop, this is serious! He's 'special'" You said you had a joke but you'd already given me one! I might have been the only one laughing at that part but whatever. X's and O's

Ok, there is crying. I cried along with you. Thanks for all you share with us. The good, the bad, and the tears - I love it all!

  12. So I'm a "lurker," which is a term I hate because it means I am part of this bizarre blog world in one way or another. Truth is, I started exploring the Lap Band in January, and read through some blogs (and by some I mean like dozens. I couldn't stop, I thought I was going to get fired for my lack of productivity). Your blog is the ONLY one I continue to read. Believe it or not, I have read every post you ever made. And I did it in like two weeks. I swear to God I have a job, I don't just lay around and eat pies and read blogs all day. Honest!

I'm still about a month and a half from being banded, but I've lost 20 lbs as part of my preop diet. I'm a "superfatass," as I like to call it - how wrong does super obese sound? Ugh. Anyway, i started at 350, so I am SO inspired by what you have done.

I love reading about times when you fall off the wagon and dive head first into Sunkist and oreos. I love even more when I read about an amazing week you have had, or an impressive non-scale victory.

Anyway, just so you know, not only are your amazing fellow bloggers following your journey and cheering you on, but creepers like myself too. And there's got to be more than one silent blog stalker.

I'm 25, still living with my parents, loving life, and traveling as much as I can. Still in that irresponsible, blow all your money on having way too much fun stage. But so many of your thoughts, hopes, and worries are the same as mine. Seeing you "shrink" has helped me realize that my awesome life is going to be 10000x better after my lap band journey. Can't wait! Thanks again for being a great example of how an everyday person, who has good days and bad, can be a hero and a role model. You have knocked my socks off with your hard work and perserverence. I probably won't make a habit of commenting, but I'll be here, supporting you, along with what I can only assume is hundreds of others.

And rock that PMS girl, it happens to the best of us. I can't even watch commercials the week before my period without having a mini emotional breakdown. :)

  13. Amy... you are an amazing person. Thanks again (and again, and again) for your post... we do love you - so much... you've made a lot of our journeys even better than they already were just by being you. XOXOXO

  14. Amy, you are such a sweet tender hearted person. It would be impossible to not fall in love with you... and I think your blog followers all substantiate that fact. I appreciate your realness. It's difficult to make yourself completely open and vulnerable. You do it with such grace (minus the turkey talk)... XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

  17. Awww! Amy! :) I too get uber emotional at that PMS stage...even more so than usual...cuz I cry...A LOT.

I remember the first time you commented on my blog...I was like...holy crap Amy reads my blog! Blogging Oprah reads MY blog...

I think I even told my friend about it the other day...I got that look...the crazy one...yeah. =/

You are awesome, totally inspirational...in what you have accomplished in the year and change since being banded...its amazing. You are so kind to people, you totally deserve it back at ya! :)

    Nikki

  18. Amy, I have only known you a short while, and you are as old as my kids...(ugh)..but you have brought me so much laughter and joy! I talk about you to my family and I feel like I am soooo lucky to live near you! I too won't be able to go to Chicago this time...but next time I will! Keep your chin up and go have a margarita! 19. this is a big ole love fest!! xoxo and if it happens that you cannot go, you bet your lifesavers there will be a cutout of you! did you see "up in the air"? lol we will hold your cutout up in front of everything and then make a montage of all the pics so it'll be like you were there :-) and you will CERTAINLY be there in spirit!!!

  20. You are loved and would be missed more than any one else if you are unable to make it there!

Here's hoping that you can swing it.

You were my first blog to read and was the inspiration for me to blog too!! My 36 yr old daughter still thinks I am nuts!! LOL

    Have a great weekend!

  21. LOL... I'm so competitive, I feel like telling lurker Rach I did the "I read every post" detail in about 5 days. Granted, I was laid up during recovery, but girl...

AMY. Amy McSassypants. I think if I couldn't page through your blog, read the comments left, watch your vlogs (I'm half-way tempted to do a parody one of you just to see if I can get you to tinkle with laughter, but I often find myself far funnier than other people do), I'd go INSANE.

Liv, Miss Sensitive to Everything, calls you Queen Queso. She squeals with glee when she sees Sunkist in a machine and kids that we are hoarding it in California to save you from it.

"My mommy reads Amy and it helps her lots," she will announce at SGMs when people talk about needing some extra support. "You should totally google her!"

When I have a shit moment in life, I can come see you and your confidence and your bubbly persona and chill out. I don't watch television. You've become the comparison to an old lady's "stories" for me. You are my inspiration, my source for strength.

DUH that everyone else would feel the same way.

You are far more realistic than any of the contestants on Biggest Loser. You are a bigger inspiration to current Lappers, wannabe Lappers and non-Lappers who just love you because you're that lovable.

I can't thank you enough for being Amy. :)

And stop making me cry, bitch!

  22. Awww you brought a tear to my eye - I can't handle watching other people tear up without me joining in :-)

  23. You are an amazing person. I have said it over and over. I came across your blog before I fully had decided to have surgery. You inspired me Amy. I should be thanking you every single day. :) If you remember the first email I sent you. I was scared to death. Didnt know how to blog what to say or do. All I know is you helped me and possibly saved my life. So thank you.. yes tears in my eyes now :) xoxo

  24. Dude, won't pretend to know what you're going through, but I have been married since 1996, so I know enough to know you need Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. Granted, a soon-to be bandster should probably not be making the suggestion of ice cream to a veteran bandster, but I know those kinds of tears.

  25. Aww darl dont cry - or you will set me off. Those big blues of yours filling up will do it every time. And it sucks! Why? Cos you can't get to Chicago and NOR CAN I!! Why OH WHY do I live in Australia???? It is SOOOOO far away. I want to meet everyone, too. If I lived near Chicago where my 2 brother and sisters-in-law lived I could have got there too. Double suck!!!

  26. Kisses from MA to FL...MUAHS! Did you get them??

  27. I'm new to all this, but I feel like I already know you (and all the other band ladies).

    **Hugs**

Cheer up, buttercup. There is sure to be a way this will all work out :)
    Love ya!

  29. Awww I am with you on crying when something is so touching. I cry at the christmas Foldgers commercials. I had the cardboard cut out idea too! Of course we want you there! We want EVERYONE there. All hope is not lost if you can't make it. We should definitely rotate locations so everyone gets a chance to meet up. Big BESEOS!!!

  30. I'm late on the comments, but you know we love you honey!
@Fat Bastard, what a brave man to just dive head first into this sea of estrogen. He's got a point with the ice cream though.
    It'll all work out!

  31. Baby, you are so sweet! As soon as I played it I could tell you were going to cry and so I started crying! It's like vomiting for me - if I see someone blow chunks, then I will have no choice but to join in! <3

  32. Amy...you are the sweetest thing ever. You were my 1st blog to read and inspired me to do my own blog. Thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart forstarting this blog and continueing to put it all out there good and bad...

  33. Thank goodness I had a warning about this Vlog before I watched it! ;-) The cat's meow was the cat's meow haha ~ chin up, press on, if it is to be it is to be and you will be in Chicagie (I tried to make it rhyme)

  34. Amy, I'm SO glad I read that you ARE coming to Chi-town before I watched this vlog! I'm a little behind b/c it's been a busy weekend (Dad's birthday & all). Regardless, I shed a little tear & then pee'd a little when you shouted at Rambo... "He's special" just about had me running for the BR. LOL (We say that a lot at work, eh Camille & Tanya?)
So looking forward to meeting you this fall, girl!!!
And if next year is FL, & then OZ, I call dibs on Canada for year 4 (even though I'm not actually moved back yet, I should be by then)!
    Blessings,
Robin at Band on the Run
