I've Been Holding Out On You

And for good reason....

I found a product (okay, Heather did)...that I really, really like. And I wrote to the supplier to see if they would send me a couple of free samples so I could do giveaways.

Alas, I have not heard hide nor hair from them and I can't wait any longer. Let me introduce you to Jack3d...or as I call it, Jack's. When Heather first started taking it, I thought she was silly. I mean, come on. I have never been a huge believer in dietary supplement, caffeine pills, etc. But one day, I tried it. And now I am hooked.

Here is a summary of Jacks (in my own words).
  • You take 1-3 scoops (I recommend...as does the container...starting with just one) with about 8 ounces of water per scoop.
  • You drink it 30-45 minutes BEFORE your workout, preferably on an empty stomach.
  • I do 2 scoops. And about 15 minutes into my workout, I can feel it kick it. It gives me this extra boost...a little surge of energy. At times, I look like an insane energizer bunny. I swear it helps me with my pullups and dips. It seems to allow me to push a little farther...do a little more.
  • If you drink it too soon or too late though, you may peak too early or too late. So figure out what works for you.
  • I love it when I am doing circuit or something that involves muscles. I used it once on a pure cardio day, and I am not sure I like it as much bc I already feel like I might die when I do cardio.
  • The link to the website is here.

So go check it out, read up, and give it a try if you think you might like it. Heather buys it at our Vitamin Shoppe. Hell, it all may be a placebo...but I enjoy it.

If you do end up trying some, let me know what you think.

  1. Extra energy while working out is always a plus. I'll have to check it out. I assume it must not taste like shit or you would have mentioned that.

  2. I know someone who uses it. I never really read it closely - I realize I've been calling it "Jacked" instead of Jack3d. LOL. He uses it the same way you do and says he loves it too that it allows him to work out harder. I'd never heard of it and he tries all sorts of stuff so I never really took it seriously. But if you like it and Heather also trusts it - maybe I'll try it out! Thanks for the heads up!

  4. I take caffeine before a workout because I'm still up at night with the baby. Do you think it gives you more of a boost than caffeine? Please let me know!! The price isn't bad, that's for sure.

  5. Sometimes I don't understand blogger. I got an email notificaiton that 'peascorps' had left the following on my post, but I can't see it...so I wanted to share it just in case others cant see it either "

Amy, although you are VERY healthy and active, this should be used with EXTREME caution in the obese or morbidly obese person (especially any with a history of hypertension or other cardiac problems). Two of the main ingredients can cause a dangerous increase in blood pressure). It is a form of speed. In 2009, the World Anti-Doping Agency added methylhexanamine to the 2010 prohibited list.
    Just use with caution.

    peace. "

So Meli, that might be some info for you. It's funny though bc I took Jacks on the day we were having a healthfair at work. I took it around 5:15 am and was supposed to be fasting for my bloodwork at 7:45. I was worried it might make my blood pressure appear high (although I NEVEr have had high bp.) Anyways, my bp was perfect, it didnt have an effect at all.

I provided the link to the website so people could read up on the ingredients and decide for themselves...I hope and believe people don't do things just because Amy says so.

and is it sad that I want to buy lots of it now...just in case it's taken off the market? hahha...probably.
