I ripped this article out of a magazine the other day bc I liked the info. Its written by some Ph.d., CNS, board certified nutritionist....and of course it talks about water. It says:
1. Much of what we perceive as hunger-driving us to overeat-is actually thirst.
2. Within 10 minutes of drinking about a pint of water, metabolic rates in both men and women begin to increase by as much as 24-30 percent.
3. You should divide your weight by 2 to get the number of ounces of water you should be drinking a day.
I have heard number 3 for years. That just sounds like an awful lot of water to me! I drink somewhere around 80-90 ounces a day...and if I followed the rule I should be drinking 130! Woo wee.
Just wanted to share :)

ReplyDeleteFunny you mention this Amy, I have not been able to drink as much as I like to since the band, but before all i used to drink was water, and when I said a lot I mean by the pitcher full, and guess what?, nothing, I'm sure is good for your body , but,I don't , in my case drinking plenty water was not enough.
ReplyDeleteI am finally caught up with reading you blogs. My internet doesn't work at home and I have to try to get a different service. I am paying $60 per month for absolute crap!!!! I have enjoyed catching up and I will try to read while I teach summer school (joy, joy) next week. I need to start blogging so I can complain about not finding clothes to fit correctly. It is getting difficult, dangit.

Hey Amy, Thanks for posting on my blog! Wow you have an amazing following so thank you for following my blog. I don't get to blog as much as I would like cause after putting the kids down at about 7:30 and chatting/watching tv with hubby I am falling asleep. I am going to need a tummy tuck cause I have had 2 c-sections and 1 fibroid removal all cut below the abs. It has so much scar tissue that it wont be able to go flat. I just have to say you are absolutely beautiful! Your eyes are amazingly blue and your self confidence is encouraging. It shows in your pictures and your posts! Good luck on being the best you can be. I think you had posted before about not feeling overweight on the outside and you want the outside to match the inside. I love reading your posts!!!! Keep me laughing!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I really don't know how to respond to comments. On the persons blog or on my own?
