I forgot the most important thing

I forgot to tell you one of the most important things I learned at the support group. We are SO lucky to have this community of lapband blogs. For a lot of people in the group, the only support they have is AT the support group. Now, it only meets once a month. Seriously, we are so lucky to have this online community where we can ask each other questions, share our stories, learn from each other, and know that what we are going through is normal! I tried to imagine where I would be at if I didn't have this blog, and you blogs, and your comments. I wonder if I would be as far along as I am now. I wonder if I would know as much about the band as I do now. I think the answer would be know.

Also, when I was talking at the support group about us bandsters, Dr. Friedman kept laughing when I used terms like bandiversary, bandsters, etc. He came up to me afterwards and said I have never heard any of those terms! I told him I would make a band language dictionary for him! lol

  4. True, so true. Thanks for your comment about how you mentally calculate calories, that obviously works for you and your approach is so reasonable! And glad to hear you can eat more than a half cup and still stay on your losing streak!

  5. Thanks for representing us "bandsters". I used the term bandster with the FNP at my doctor's office, and she had never heard of that either. Nor had she heard of PB'ing or sliming. It's kind of fun to have a "secret" language...mwah, hah, hah.

  9. I would be completely lost if not for these blogs! I have even thought about starting my own; however I am not the greatest writer. Reading everyone's blogs has helped me tremendously. Some of them (your's and Catherine's) I have read from the first post to the last, such inspiration! As for those support groups - they have one every month at my hospital but there are never any post-op people (band or gastric). I will stick to the blog world!

  11. The support I have gotten from you guys has been so great! I learned so much before I had my surgery, I was better prepared for everything! Now if I can just make super progress like you have I will be so happy!! Next time I am in Fl. we are going to have to get together!

  12. I've gotten alot out of these blogs too-- and since I happen to work where I will be banded and want to keep it on the down low, there will be no support group for me! Well: maybe when I reach my goal I'll go? Who knows... but in the meantime, I love reading everyone's blogs as I prepare for my surgery.

  13. Yay, I finally got to read your blog!!

You are 1) adorable and 2) doing excellent with your weight loss. I know I won't be 100 pounds down when I'm eight months out. Congratulations! I know it's been a lot of hard work.

I know you probably won't mind, but I like to ask--do you mind if I add you to my list of Banded Bloggers and write a little post about your blog?
