“If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a hoper, a prayer, a magic-bean-buyer. If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire, for we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!” ~Shel Silverstein
you have to tell me how Paranormal was...I was just talking to Janet about that today. I hope it's REALLY scary! Have fun at date night!
ReplyDeleteWe can get back on the wagon together....haven't been 100% myself lately either :(
ReplyDeleteLet us know how Paranormal Activity is! I typically hate scary stuff but am always fascinated by that kind of stuff anyways :)
Okay, so I am going to play junior amateur psychologist here for a minute (I am allowed to do that after the many years I've spent in counselling, he-he) and I am going to ask:
ReplyDeleteDo you think you went crazy with food because lately you have been substituting the high of acquiring new clothes with cheap "hits" at fast food places?
I ask because I have done that. I seem to get little highs from buying clothes and that feeds into me not bingeing so I can buy more and feel better. But when I'm broke I miss that little blip, that little HIGHlight of my day and I need a fix, so sometimes I'll think, oh, I need a treat, something inexpensive, why not Wendy's?
Also, one other thing I noticed about my full blown EAT EVERYTHING ATTACKS is that I like the thrill of the chase. I like thinking about the food, imagining it arriving or unwrapping it, selecting the food, etc etc etc. But when I do EAT EVERYTHING I tend to check out after the first bite. It's like I'm totally primed for the high of acquiring the food but I am not even present enough to enjoy eating it?
Weird, huh?
Anyhoo, I will stop playing junior amatuer psychologist now, but I thought I'd ask :-)
Holy crap. I think I just wrote the blog comment equivalent of WAR and PEACE!!!!
ReplyDeleteI need to check into BLOG School to learn some manners!
Yay your pretty face! You'll be alright, at least your being honest with not only us, but with yourself.
ReplyDeleteAnd, in your words, "STOP IT!" :)
Keep us updated.
Amy you are so fun to follow! And looking great, BTW.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the Wendy's incident, just get that stuff out of your system and go back to the good stuff -- it will be a distant memory.
My Jr. Psychologist take is that after hitting 100 down you felt very much entitled to a reward or two! We have all "rewarded" ourselves with food for so long, it is hard to do anything different with such a big accomplishment.
BTW I looked up your calories at Wendy's and the good news is, at 310 calories, the Jr. Bacon cheeseburger is no big deal at all!
As for the twisted Frosty....well, a little more twisted on the calorie count. Less than 500 cals, so not so bad as far as the whole Frosty Genre of foods go.
I live in fear of the Frosty and its close relatives, the DQ Blizzard and the McFlurry. The calories are just unfair and evil! (And forget about the Moo Latte. That thing is like 600 calories or more.
The way I look at it (for now anyway) is: I'm not going to let these giant fast food corporations trick me into sucking down 600 calories in 5 minutes any more! I am smarter than them, and I am pissed that they have convinced me to take the bait for so long! Screw them!
Brooke, I just wrote Anna Karenina blog comment, so don't feel bad.
I need to learn how to V-Log... I am so afraid of what I am going to sound like! Crazy. Maybe I'll try after the race. You know, at least you are aware and willing to admit what you're doing. We all fall off the proverbial wagon, so just hold on to the wheel and drag along until you get filled! Keep your chin up (and mouth closed)!
ReplyDeleteAmy-Hugs! You are beautiful :-)Wendy's is the DEBIL!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know what strikes me the most about that vlog? You look so sad. :( My numbers are on my FB profile, seriously, call me if you get to that point. I'll smack you up side your head through the phone, or just give you a phone hug.
ReplyDeleteSorry you're having such a tough time getting back on the wagon but the fill will definitely help. Have an awesome date night and definitely tell us about the movie...I'm way too freaked out to see it! Hey...I recognized that there was no mention of Sunkist in the vlog...at least that is one foot back on the wagon!
ReplyDeleteAhhh Ames, thanks for sharing. Got a fill yesterday, only 1 cc and don't feel a thing yet. Gonna have some mushy food for dinner, I hate liquids and just pee way too much on them!
ReplyDeleteYou do inspire us to be real and we know that mistakes happen, but who among us is brave enough to tell us all about it. You are terrific and you'll be rocking 100 lost again soon! Friday is around the corner, yeahh!
It sounds like what happened to me with my fill levels and it might be due to the fact that you have lost a lot of weight and it might of come off around your actual stomach therefore making the band looser.
ReplyDeleteWell that is what happened to me anyway :-)
I agree with the dissertations above -that you're probably rewarding yourself and it really is ok. B/c you're back in control, you recognize it and most importantly you're doing something about it. I've just reached restriction and now I know why everyone wants it back when they do get it!
ReplyDeletePS I think you need to host a webshow - you know - like iAmy instead of iCarly!
oemgee... the funniest vlog EVER. Im now in love with you!
ReplyDeleteIt's like finding my twin sister online, junior bacon cheeseburgers don't count cause they are on the .99 menu!! And shopping to feel better, hello the girls at TJ Maxx know my name!! Funny my mom lives in Fl. now....maybe we are related... BTW you will make it through this, look at all the support you have; amazing! Enjoy date night!
ReplyDeleteHang in there Amy, you'll get back on track! I've fallen off the bandwagon, HARD and have given myself till my birthday dinner and then it is back on board. It's a constant mental battle but we will win!
ReplyDeleteI swear it's attack of the hambugers this week... I would give my right arm for a giant bacon cheese burgur... Enjoy it an move on to the next day!
ReplyDeleteAmy, you do seem so bummed out in this Vlog! I hope that date night cheered you up. Once you get your fill, you'll be fine. . but step away from the CRACK ROCK (and by crack rock, I mean insane fast food!!!) and get it together, woman!!
ReplyDeleteYou're on the right track to think of that stuff as poison - - but you should really start thinking about as -- literally -- poison that you will die if you eat. I try to conceptualize things like that (bagels), and find it pretty helpful!
Anyway, you are still doing great . . and a little back-sliding is normal. You'll be back on the WL road before you know it!
xoxoxo,
Catherine
You did seem a little more serious this Vlog than in times past - but it's totally understandable. I guess even months down the track we don't change too quickly what took years to get us here. But you know the positives of it this time round? You're aware that you're eating badly, whereas before you probably did it and just didn't give a shit.. Now you do.. and that's the first step in trying to stop further blow outs (that and the fill - which is also coming.) Hang in there, Ames and enjoy date night.
ReplyDeletePS You know something else I noticed.. OMFG!! You're face is SOOOO thin.. you look absolutely gorgeous.. non-existant bags and all!
god woman....you are funny!!! Love to follow you!!
ReplyDeleteOMG.....Look I finally got to comment!!!! Woo Hoo! I knew if I kept trying ONE DAY it would work!!!
ok I'm late to the show, but I'm proud of you for getting back on, which I know you will. I also think it's great that you're being as honest as you are... I've been almost as naughty, and just never shared it. Love ya sista.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long since I've heard your voice:( Remember my days of the lemon bars! Everyone slips up now and then. You are doing such a great job and you are such an inspiration. Call me sometime so we can really chatch up!
ReplyDeleteYou are seeming really down and I can relate. I fell off the wagon and have been running behind it trying to jump back on for well over a month now. I just couldn't get my head in the game. So if you're ready let's get back on together. I'm shaking it today b/c lord knows I need a little detox and Slim Fast is sure to help me out with that right now. Not fun but soooooo needed :(
ReplyDeleteI am way behind on my blog reading (and watching)....you are hilarious, Amy! And I've decided that you should be a comedian. Thanks for making me laugh and for keeping things REAL! It's nice to have fellow bandster sista's that are open and honest (we can share the good with the bad).
ReplyDeleteI hope your date night was fun and I'm certain after your next fill you will be back on board!
