FUUUURRRR-Ride-Day

It is Friday! And I am a proud owner of a Wii. I cant afford anything extra to go with it just yet, but at least we have the foundation of our future Wii empire. Now I would like lots of comments telling me the difference between Wii Fit and Wii Active, etc. What is a waste of money, what is worth it.

Couple good old fashioned NonScale Victories today. First, I went to Target and bought some bracelets. It is so amazing to be able to just buy standard issue bracelets! They actually fit. Of course there are still some out there that are made for the wrist of an embryo, but the majority fit! Here are three wood ones I purchased today. Remember, I have a life goal of becoming the crazy lady who wears lots of bangles on one wrist...you know...the kind you can hear coming down the hall? The kind that wears bracelets you would never think of putting together. My life goal.

Also, we have a staff member here who had gastric bypass a week before I had lapband. To date, she has lost about 150 pounds. Bringing her to 155. She came in the other day to talk to my coworker. My coworker told me today that Danielle said, "I am so jealous of Amy. She is smaller than me". hahahah Clearly she has a real case of body dysmorphic disorder, bc I weigh almost 80 pounds more than her. But still, I will take the compliment. We just carry our weight differently. She has chicken legs and a very big middle. My big is spread evenly.
My sunkist obsession. So many of you have offered possible alternatives to Satan's nectar. It's just not the same. I have discovered that diet sprite or diet sierra mist is okay...if I am looking for that nice tingle that pop (soda) gives. But you see, Sunkist is an experience. There is no substitute. And honestly, I don't need to give it up forever and ever. I just to have it be the exception, not the rule. I will let you know when I figure out how to make that happen!
Do you guys know what is really hard? Grasping that I am getting smaller. For example. I went into Old Navy and picked up some pajama pants, size XXL. When I tried them on and literally laughed out loud! They were so big on me! When I went to pick out a cardigan, I thought *sigh*, "I will try on an XL (instead of an XXL) just for fun". And it fit! It is just so unbelievable to fathom that I am very close to being able to walk into a store and find my size. I wonder when I will get used to that.

  1. Congrats on your wii purchase.. I'm sure you are going to have hours of fun with it.. There is no right or wrong accessory to buy for it, it all depends on your own individual likes and dislikes and what you want to use it for.. I love ours.
    Love the bangles too..

  3. Ok I have to toss out the obvious although I'm sure you have tried it - diet sunkist, or are you trying to avoid the caffiene? Love my Wii fit too but I have not played for ages...ooppps.. now that the weather is getting cold here it will be indoor time soon when the flakes fly!

  4. I am TOTALLY WITH YOU on the whole clothing size thing. Honestly, I haven't really been shopping in a real store for a long time. Mainly goodwill or consignment or hand-me-downs. I'm actually scared b/c I don't know what size I really am! Enjoy the Wii... we have one, but my daughter/husband use it WAY more than I do (or should I say wii more than I do?!?!?)

  5. Have fun with the Wii! I was all excitied to buy a wii fit and then I looked around the house for the wii, asked my sons if they knew where it was and found out they had traded it for a bike or something stupid! Oh well. I will have to ask Santa for one as our winters are looooooooong!

I just went in an old navy and bought some shirts...it was so strange to go in a regular store. It was something I could get used to!

  7. Yeah! That is an awesome NSV. I totally get the size thing. I have been buying XL for so long, I was just shocked to have an L actually fit!

I have a Wii but not the Wii fit or anything. I need to look into it. My kids had taken the Wii over, but I'm ready to re-claim it.

As for the Sunkist...no good advice here. As a professional dieter, I have been drinking only diet soda ever since Tab was invented (well, almost).

  8. I hear you about the Sunkist obsession, despite me asking you if there were a calorie-free alternative in a comment to your last post. Mine was (and could be again!) Diet coke. I don't even want to have any Italian or Mexican food without it. I broke the habit (or should I say ADDICTION!!) when I was trying to get prego, started up again, and then broke it again when I knew I wouldn't be able to have it for weeks after the surgery. I just discovered the other day that I have no issue with carbonation, and I know this knowledge will not be good!!! I'm beginning to wonder if there is still cocaine in Coke, given my addiction to it!!! Soda addicts unite!!

  9. I love Wii Active, but I already told you that on facebook.

I think it is amazing those of you that can actually drink soda. My doctor put intense fear into me about it and the few times I have sipped anything with carbonation have hurt. Ah well, I can't drink anything but water now, everything else is too sweet anyway.

  10. We have the wii fit now and I think I am going to get this wii active, it looks like it will give a harder workout. Active has circuit training whereas wii fit just does aerobic and step type stuff. I think I will like (ie use) the active more!

    Congrats on the NSV!

  11. I can see you now, with about 50 bangles and your arm is so thin they can almost slide up to your elbow. Very sexy!

  12. I love my wii fit. I must say though that I don't use it much to work out, I just use it to track my progress. I use it every Monday on my weigh in day and I can go back and see how far I've come. On the workout side, it's really not much of a workout, although the boxing is pretty good. I don't know about Active.

  13. I'm on the same page with you w/ the clothes sizes. I don't grab the larger ones I just grab the size I am but the whole time I'm thinking "this brand will be smaller, this one won't fit" and I LAUGH OUT LOUD AS WELL, b/c I can't tell you how many times I've broke down into tears in a dressing room. There is a strong, strange, mystical power that those rooms hold. So far, the target dressing room has nothing but good joojoo for me!!!

  14. You know, for the first time today I actually noticed a little box of sunkist. I don't drink fizzy cooldrink often and I didn't remember seeing this on the shelf.. but I was food shopping, going down the drinks aisle... and there they were.. little orange cans of (non) goodness lol. I might have to try one some day to see what draws you in.
PS Love the bangles.. very cute..

  15. COngrats on the Wii! I have the Wii fit and while I don't use it much (the kids always have it) I don't find it to be a huge workout and here the active is much better. Love the bracelets....so cool to be able to just walk in and buy them! Woohoo!

  16. I have the Wii fit. It's great fun. Clingy clangy jingle jangle - here comes Amy with her bangles!

  17. Shopping is the ultimate reward to ourselves for all our hard work, enjoy!

  18. I have both Wii fit and EA Active Sports...not sure if that's the same as Wii Active. EA Active sports I've tried twice and it KICKED my ass! It's probably a much better workout but I think I like the Wii Fit better. It's just plain fun, I don't feel like I'm working out yet I know I am getting a workout.

  19. I am down 63lbs from having a realize band on 2/20/09. I have to say the absolute best thing ever is being able to walk into (almost) any store and find something that fits. It's even better when you don't have to wear the biggest size in the store!!
