Peek-a-boo...I wanna Kiss You

For those of you who are on Facebook with me, you know that I went tubing this weekend and bought a waterproof disposable camera. Oh, we took tons of pictures. I am sure they were fabulous. I was going to litter this blog post with said pictures.

Turns out....

The Target brand waterproof camera is anything BUT WATERPROOF. Walgreens called to tell me that moisture must have gotten in and none of the pictures came out.

DO NOT TELL A PREMENSTRUAL WOMAN WHO IS OBSESSED WITH PICTURES OF HERSELF THAT THERE ARE NO PICTURES!

I didn't cry. But only because Heather promised me that we would go tubing again and pretend it's the first time and take more pictures.

Sigh.

But here in Florida they have these freshwater "rivers" and you just lay on a tube as you float downstream for hours. It was perfect. At one sandbar they have a ropeswing tied to a tree. All of the drunk men were doing it...so I figured I would too. Now we all know my first thought was, "Shitballs, I sure hope I dont snap that tree in half"... but then my second thought was that a majority of the guys doing it actually weighed more than me.

So I climbed up the embankment, climbed up the tree, grabbed the rope, made sure my girlfriend was watching, and let 'er rip.

My arms didnt give out. I didn't die. It was awesome. So I went back and did it over and over.

I also went clothes shopping this weekend. My wardrobe was in a sad state ladies and gentlemen. I haven't gone shopping for work clothes in a long time...and I was down to my pencil skirt and one pair of pants. Well, slap my ass and call me Cher, I bought A LOT of clothes.

Here's what you should know.

I bought several size 12's. And one pair of size 10 work pants! WHHAAAT?
The heels I bought were 7.5's. No wide width. Just normal 7.5's. Funny considering I used to wear a 9 wide.

But do you know what? I have a little fear that the size 12's I just bought aren't going to fit for very long.

Now stop eyerolling. I am not saying because I am losing weight fast (bc I am not), but because they fit just right at this very moment...almost on the verge of being a tad loose. And I don't know how much weight it takes to drop a size...when you are this size. You know what I mean? When I was a size 26, I lost 40 pounds before my clothes were too big. Now I think I could drop a size in 10 pounds. Is that right? Catherine? Nicole? Angie? Those of you who have been here?

Speaking about weight loss...I am holding right now at 171.

One pound away from my goal that I set 18 months ago.

After a mini-Oreo bender last week, I am doing better this week.

Happy Tuesday lovies!

  1. That is terrible about your camera! And I want to do that river floating thing -- sounds awesome.

On the sizes -- first of all, CONGRATULATIONS on the 12s!! WOOT!! Second, yes -- it's about 10 pounds between sizes at this point. (Meanwhile it took me like 30+ to get from a 20 to an 18. .)

Third, my feet shrank too! I had gone up from an 8 1/2 to a 9 the year before I was banded, and now all of my shoes from that time are 1/2 a size too big. I guess it makes sense. . that 80 extra pounds squished them down and flattened them out. .

Glad you are doing so well! The river & the shopping sounded great!

  2. Size 10s????? Rock on! And 1 lb? Rock on again!

Sorry about the pics. But the next time you go, I want to come! Oh wait, Orlando is quite a drive. Why don't you come down here and visit instead? I'll push you around my little pool and you can close your eyes and pretend you are tubing on a beautiful river! :)

  3. I think it's about 10 pounds per size when you're in "regular" sizes, but that's me trying to remember what I've read on other blogs :) I guess you're going to have to let us know!

I wouldn't know, I'm still mostly wearing the same things I was 80 pounds ago. Good thing I have a casual job :)

Sorry your pics didn't turn out. It's a good excuse to go tubing again (as if you need an excuse!). I love lazy days on the river!

  5. You are doing amazing... I am a sad state of clothing right now... I am still wearing 14s though... and I only have one pair. I hate not having clothes that fit! Excellent job on the size 12, and 10!!!

  8. Amy, now if you were a REAL tuber, you would have had a tube filled with alcohol and ice!! LOL! Glad you had a good time - it always made me feel like a kid again.

  9. We used to go down those same rivers complete with an extra raft weighed down with a giant cooler filled with ice and adult beverages. Made the whole experience even better ;)

We went once up in Helen GA and I was too fat for the adventure to be enjoyable. The river there wasn't really deep enough and I spent most of the time walking around and holding my raft because I didn't want my butt to get scratched on the rocks any more than it already had.

I'll bet it would be a helluva lot more fun these days!!

  10. Oh dear! We bought an expensive waterproof case for our digital camera for a trip to Phuket a few years ago purely so when we went snorkelling we could take pretty pics of the pretty fishes. After an hour boat ride to the middle of nowhere for our snorkelling, hubby realised he'd left the case in our hotel room. Could have killed him! We ended up using it in the hotel pool - not quite as cool!

    Tubing sounds like fun!

    Em :)

  12. You haven't lived if the Oreos weren't the peanut butter kind. Just discovered them yesterday and I am in trouble.

Congrats on being so close to goal and in "normal" people clothes.

You are so fabulous and I can't wait to meet you. i am so happy that you are so close to your goal that you can taste it. You deserve all the rewards for your hard work and inspiration to others. 14. 10!!! 10!!! 10!!! 10!!! 10!!! That is sure somethin'!!!

I'm still 40 pounds from goal but for me it's 15-20 pounds between sizes. Although, I'm tall (braggart) so it may take more weight for me. Sigh. Why was I cursed with these pesky dancer's legs? :)

well....um.....here's the thing. I'm just starting to squeeze into 12's (cough.....ahem....cough).

  15. Was that too subtle? Let's be direct: give me your 12's when they are too big for you. There.
