Fun With Rubber

While I was sitting at the doctor's office I noticed this little rubber example of what restriction looks like with a Realize band. I have a Lapband, but I figure they are probably pretty similar. I hope you can get the scale size...that is why I included my pointer finger fingernail. The thickness of the white is supposed to represent how thick the band is when inflated and the opening is how big it is with restriction.

Also, one last picture of my cat Gracy. She is enjoying the box Gen sent my goodies in!

  6. I have the Realize Band, got it March 2008... and I love it. I've lost about 100 pounds and its been great having the online support that comes with the band. My only complaint is last week I went in for a fill and my Dr. told me I had reached maximum capacity for what I could fill the band. Over the summer I went a few months without needing a fill (hitting my "sweet spot").. but I definitely need one now. My Dr. wasnt at all concerned and told me the next time I come in, he'll fill my band with a thicker liquid and over fill it just a tiny bit, and it will be totally fine.. so I'm not feeling hopeless just yet. He told me (and showed me that same little plastic display) that we all have different thickness in our stomach lining and that mine might just be thinner than most.

They may have come out with a larger band, that holds more since I got my realize band.. I'm not sure. Like I said though, I really love my band and am so happy with the progress I've made with the Realize system.

  8. I'm getting realize banded in two weeks. When I had my first consult with the nutritionist, she gave me one of those little rubber keychains, and I carry it in my purse always. It's the most helpful visual!

  10. This is great, I have pictured this post at every meal this week when I am cutting my food up into tiny pieces to make sure they go through the band.

Every time you post new pictures I am amazed at the difference, you are looking fabulous. A great inspiration for us newer bandsters.
