Sticky & Sweet

I am a Midwesterner, born and raised. And only by geographical location could I be considered a Southerner. And perhaps my sheltered food life has more to do with this revaluation then location, but I just discovered something so yummy...

Peanut butter and bananas....TOGETHER!

I have heard of people making peanut butter and banana sandwiches, and I know Elvis loved banana and mayo sandwiches...but I can't do bread....so I just measured out 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and dipped sliced 'naners in it (using my fork like a lady). It was really good, full of protein & potassium.

I just wanted to share.

This may be news to no one but me! LOL

  5. Peanut Butter and Banana has been a favorite of mine since I was a wee little tyke!

If you are willing to add the calories - try drizzling a little bit of honey on the banana before you dip it in the peanut butter.

    Delicious!

  8. Funny! I just tried this for the first time a couple weeks ago. I would never have thought to try it before even though I have heard of it. Must be a midwestern thing.

  11. You could even make it a sandwich, no bread. Halve the banana LONGWAYS and spread one side with PB. Put the other half on top-- voila, breadless 'sang-gwich' (as my son calls sandwiches.)
    Enjoy!

  12. Oh my gosh you are so funny...seeing as how I live with a midwestern boy I understand how this is new to you. I grew up eating PB with bananas, apples and celery (add raisins = ants on a log) I eat banana with a teaspoon of PB that has been warmed in the micro for 20 seconds drizzled with chocolate syrup for dessert when I really need one! Glad you found a new favorite!

  20. Amy...I am one of those "secret" followers and wanted to say I love your blog and often look to it for inspiration! On another note...the red background and black writing are terribly difficult to read! I find myself longing for the pink/yellow funk that recently left my eyes :(
