Attack of The Snark

I don't know what a snark is...

But I like the sound of it.

I am up 5 pounds this week ladies! But I shall rebound. I am not too down in the dumpies about it, bc it has been an off week and this weekend was a blackhole of timeloss and calorie destruction.

But, this is a prime example of why a fill is not the answer to everything.

Let me 'splain.

I have great restriction. I am never really hungry. If I eat protein and solid foods, I can't eat much.

I am eating for the hell of it. I am eating candy, chips, and drinking pop. In small doses, these add up on the scale. So that's it kiddies! The band is not the answer to everything, mama has to do her part!

So I am introducing my body back to my long lost friend...water! And trying to cut back on the salt. I will recover and conquer!

  2. I drink too little water, and WAY too much salt. I am working on this. I used to drink so much water my husband would call me a water buffalo. BUT, since my surgery, I just don't like it as much. I don't know why. But the salt continues to call to me.

Weight gain is so snarky, isn't it!?

  3. According to the urban dictionary, Snark is a noun and a combination of "snide" and "remark", or a sarcastic comment. :-)
    Aren't slider foods killer? HUGS

  5. My slider downfall is ice cream, hence my 6 pound gain (only 4 has came back off). The band isn't fail proof, but we will prevail!

  8. Snark I think has been picked up by the new dictionary - but the word originally came from a poem by Lewis Carrol - The hunting of the Snark - which was written about a journey on the sea by an improbable crew to find an inconceivable creature. lol Getting technical here. It's one of my favorite words!
The whole weight gain thing sucks, Amy, but I guess on the upside you know why you gained. And knowing you it wont be long before you pound away at it and lose it again. Salt is a pain in the ass the way it makes us retain water.

  9. I love Cara for knowing the origin of "snark!" I've heard that story as well.

As for the eating thing, it seems like you just need a little break here and there, and that you always get back on track. As long as you are OK with going up a bit, then getting back on track, no reason that can't be your own way of working it.

As for my sliders. . . foie gras and ice cream are the two I love the best. Hey, if I'm going to be bad sometimes, I may as well really enjoy it! :) LOL!! My real bad habit is drinking with meals. . never got the hang of that one.

  10. Ohhh, I canNOT drink with meals anymore. I will pb, shortly afterwards...kinda cures the whole drinking idea. Water is all I drink and yet still not enough. Jump back on Ames and show us how it's done.

  11. At least you can see why you have gained the weight...but no problems, you will get back on track....this week, I have been turning to slider foods, mainly because I have been lazy with the shopping and eating whatever is around me....including Coke (which I never drank preband, only Diet Coke) and have noticed my thirst returning big time...shows you how much sodium is in the crap that we eat! Hang in there.
