Confessions of a Lackadaisical Bandster

The Scene of the Crime: My desk. Bottom left drawer. A deep drawer.

The Dirty Secret: An empty 20oz bottle of Sunkist.

The Perpetrator (and the victim): Amy (aka...myself)

I havent had a sunkist today. But I had one yesterday. I hide it in the bottom of my drawer and sneak slips as if the plastic bottle was a little flask of booze. The shame.

Man this getting back on track after the cruise is harder than I thought it would be! It is soooo easy to slip back into old habits. Yikers!

Also, I broke down and ordered 2 pairs of slacks from Lane Bryant. Size 3 red. Lordie I hope they fit!

In other news, we are redoing our front entry room. I wanted to try something different and trendy. Original thought was orange. Then we decided NO...to Halloweeney. So we shifted to coral. We went and got a color sample and painted a little on the wall. Turns out....this color of color looked like a flamingo hit our wall doing 100 mph. By this point, I was so disgusted by coral, I went to Home Depot and bought 4 paint samples. Two yellows, one jade, and one olive brown color. It's giving me a headache. But I will decide by tonight and this weekend the painting will begin, followed by me shopping for drapes, bookshelf, entry table, etc. I can't wait until it all comes together.

  2. AmY aMy AmY ~ I'm in the same boat!! It's been a rough go of it since my b'day blowout weekend ~ so hard to get back on track. I too thought since I was banded almost 3 months ago it would be easy to crawl back on and sail away but NO I'm standing on shore eating when I'm not even hungry! I was so close to ONEderland (201.2) and this week I've slipped further and further away pound by pound ~ now I know PMS is a contributing factor but geez.....I need to get a grip and pull hard to get back onboard where I belong! Maybe my second fill on Monday will help?! ;-)

  3. Hi Amy. Slowly back away from the Sunkist! You will get back to the usual good habits, just give it a little time.

And on the paint....I vote yellow or olive brown. Yellow is tough to get right, but once you do it is like an anti-depressant, so cheerful every day. Go one shade lighter than you think you want, and make sure it is more on the cream spectrum, with some brown in it, and not on the school bus spectrum or a yellow with green in it. I also love mocha/latte brown colors, so cozy. Depends on what kind of light you have - don't go with a dark color if your front room is a little dark.

Can you tell we remodeled our entire house last year? ;) I have LOTS of experience in this department!

  6. Lol ANNA! I am also glad you're back. I have no recommendations on the color, my living room is a mustardy/sunny yellow and I'd like it to be just more antiqued looking. Be good.

  7. Seriously with the Sunkist? I don't know how you stop. If I so much as take a sip of any kind of soda I would be done for. I also vote for a yellow, make the entry cheery and bright. Maybe like a goldenrod color? Can't wait to see pics. Did you ever get the coupons i sent you??

  8. Your blog makes me crave Sunkist Pineapple badly. That was my soda, yum. I cheated today, had a juice box yohoo, way too much sugar, but it was there calling me, ugh.
    I vote jade.
    Stay strong and focused!

  10. Oh, I feel your paid when it comes to soda! I love me some diet coke. I shake the bottle up and then let the fizz out until it is flat, then I drink it. Crazy, but I love it.

  11. I know that you said that you wanted something, different, but Sherwin Williams has a beautiful color called Restrained Gold. I have it as the main color in my foyer/entry hall, living room, and kitchen. It goes with everything and looks GREAT!

  13. I feel for you. Doesn't matter what the food or drink is.. we all have at least one vice. That sunkist is sneaky tho. It knows when you need it.. and of course, that would be at work. I'm off to give the manufacturers a good talking too! (In my mind..you knew that..right?)

  15. You will get back on track, your body and mind is still in holiday mode!

So what colour have you decided to go with for the entry room. The Olive Brown or a sunny yellow sounds lovely! Happy Painting this weekend and looking forward to seeing a photo!

  16. It is unfortunate that it's that easy, but I am aware b/c I do this for probably 2 days out of the week, I jack it all up! for example (I'll join you here lookin' like a bad tubby wubby) we had a football snack food kick off party thing at work today. I had 4 of those fat tootsie rolls, 55555, read that fiiiiiiive choc chip cookies and chips n dip. I did put the chips n dip in my 2 cup measuring bowl though. haha! omg i have felt so stuffed and miserable all day until tonight.

We all fall off, we manage. And you are fabulous! Besides, you have all of us to boost you back up on that horse even if your ass need a little kick. *smile*

  17. Hey Amy-

Have you thought about having some orange Tic-Tacs handy for when you are craving the Sunkist? (Sunkist is orange flavored right?) Maybe if you have something orange and sweet, you won't want the soda so badly. Just a thought. I wish they made Tic-Tacs that were Dr. Pepper flavored! :)
